The horsebreed ‘Franches-Montagnes’ got its name by its region in the Jura Mountains of Switserland, near the French border. The ‘Jura Suisse’ is a wonderful region where the quietness of the open landscape is mixed with the strange feeling of the rudeness of the mountains. This is exactly the place where this little jewelry was born, the Franches-Montagnes-horse, last representative of the light draft-horse in Europe. Its origin goes back to the 15th century. Today he is the son of Vaillant, born in 1891, near Saignelégier and of Imprévu, 2nd generation stallion imported in Switserland in 1889.
